Founded in 2024 through the collaboration between Canificio and Mòno, Combinat was born from the meeting of two complementary visions devoted to historical and contemporary design. The studio focuses on the cultural and aesthetic significance of twentieth-century design, presenting it as a living dialogue with the creative landscape of today.
Combinat operates simultaneously as a gallery, an archive, and a research laboratory.
Its curated selection includes collectible furniture, functional objects, and applied-arts pieces, each chosen for its narrative, craftsmanship, and ability to resonate with modern interiors. The studio offers these works for both sale and rental, supporting a wide spectrum of projects—residential, editorial, curatorial, and commercial.
In addition to its exhibition and sales activity, Combinat provides specialized advising for collectors, creative professionals, and interior designers. This service helps refine collections, identify significant works, and navigate both established and emerging areas of twentieth-century design.
The permanent collection is in constant evolution, shaped through ongoing research that uncovers lesser-known stories, iconic milestones, and independent productions.
Combinat is a place where aesthetics, history, and function come together, with the goal of giving new life to design heritage and imagining new, meaningful ways of inhabiting space.
